Assessing the text to be translated
After the client accepted the quotation and gave the go ahead, the first step is to assess the text we are going to translate. That is, the subject matter and content, number of words, how long it is, the writing style, who is best suited to translate it etc.
Our Project Manager will read or skim read parts of the text to get an idea and overview of the content and its target audience.
The project manager may note key technology and resources they’ll need for the translation, and will decide the turnaround time needed to complete the translation.
The project manager then sends the document to one of our translators who will spend specific time on the document; and he or she will send the translated document to us on the agreed date, so that the document can be sent for proofreading and further reviews.
